Step 5. Slip Resistant Surface(SRS)
A Slip Resistant Surface (SRS) involves the application of a special textured coating which results in a very durable, yet easy to clean surface. Slip Resistant Surfaces are predominantly used in bathtubs and showers, but can also be used on concrete and other smooth surfaces.
The application of a slip resistant surface can reduce the likelihood of slipping and injury. This is a great way for hotels to reduce the exposure of their guest to accidents as a result of slipping in bathtubs or showers. The same goes for apartment managers and individual home owners.
Affordable Handyman applies Slip Resistant Surfaces as separate installation or as part of a complete refinishing job. Since Slip Resistant Surfaces can be installed quickly so there is usually little “down time” for rental units. Slip Resistant Surfaces can be applied to almost any bathtub or shower regardless of the fixture’s age or condition.
Uses
In hotels, apartments, homes, and commercial business; almost anywhere there is a need to reduce the likelihood of slipping.
For porcelain bathtubs, fiberglass shower stalls, concrete walkways, acrylic spas, tile floors and steps
Procedure
In a typical installation, the surface is thoroughly cleaned with special cleansers. The specific size and shape of the Slip Resistant Surface is determined and prepared. Affordable Handyman’s proprietary bonding agent is applied ensuring complete adhesion. The textured coating is applied resulting in a functional, yet easy to clean Slip Resistant Surface.
